Hostage twins Gali and Ziv Berman published their first video statement since their release from terror captivity in the Gaza Strip shortly before their release from Sheba Medical Center.
Freed hostages Gali and Ziv Berman posted a video message to their social media on Saturday evening, making it their first public social media post since their release from Hamas captivity on Monday.
In the video, which was recorded at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, just before the pair’s discharge from the hospital, the twins thanked the general public for their support, the medical authorities, and the IDF soldiers who fought to bring them home.
“To our amazing people, just before we are released from the hospital, we wanted to stop for a moment and say thank you to family, friends, and everyone who was there for us from afar and near,” they said in the video.
“A big thank you for being there for our mother, for supporting her. We felt it every moment, even in the tunnels, and it gave her and us the strength to continue.”
Gali and Ziv are twins from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. They were both abducted from the kibbutz on October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists killed 64 and took numerous others hostage.

They were held hostage in Gaza separately for 738 days, and were reunited following their release from captivity.
‘We are one people’
In their video, Gali and Ziv also honored the hostages who did not return alive and the families who lost their loved ones: “We will not forget the bereaved families, who lost the most precious thing to them on that damned day. We do not forget the abductees and the martyrs who have not yet returned home.”Until the last hostage, we will not rest,” they said.
They also gave a special mention to “the families of the fallen IDF soldiers and the security forces who gave what was dearest to them.”
“Thanks to your sons and daughters, we and all the hostages living at home. To the wounded in body and mind, and to our heroic soldiers, thank you for your courage, dedication and heart. Thank you for fighting so that we could be here, so that we could hug, breathe and live again. Thank you to our people… for the guarantee and the love.”
“Don’t forget, we are one people, and we have nowhere to go,” they added.
The brothers also confirmed that their health is stable. “We are fine,” they assured. “A rehabilitation process awaits us, but we successfully passed the medical test at Sheba. A huge thank you to the entire team there for the dedicated care, patience and open hearts.”
At the end of the video, they added with smiles, “And by the way, we know that you have confused us quite a bit. I am Ziv (pointing to himself), this is Gili (pointing to his twin brother), and the main thing is that we are both here, at home.”
“Soon we will see the sea again, shout at Maccabi games, understand what this ChatGPT is that everyone is talking about, and continue our rehabilitation. So again, thank you all. The people of Israel are alive,” they concluded.
